Jeweler: Gabby Elan
When Rihanna and ASAP Rocky put together a Wu-Tang Clan-themed birthday party to celebrate their son RZA Athelston Mayers’ first birthday, Rihanna stepped it up a notch with her jewelry. To complement her Ol’ Dirty Bastard-inspired outfit, Rihanna tapped New York City-based jeweler Gabby Elan to make a grill matching one of ODB's custom sets from the '90s. The grills were completed in less than one week and were crafted out of 18-karat gold. A whopping total of 425 VS plus diamonds were used to make the $18,000 grills. "She told us this was the best fitting grill she's ever had," Elan Pinhasov, one half of the father-son duo that makes up Gabby Elan, told Complex. "So, I was very happy with that. It just gives me a bright future with her. Hopefully, we get to do a lot more exciting projects together."
Jeweler: Alex Moss
"Alex Moss, yeah, he gon' make the chain hang," rapped Destroy Lonely on "came in wit." The Opium signee certainly had a lot to celebrate last month. His debut studio album, If Looks Could Kill, came out in May and debuted at No. 18 on the Billboard 200. Naturally, Destroy Lonely had to pick up a new chain to mark the occasion. He went over to Alex Moss to get a demonic-looking cross. While there aren't concrete details available on the materials used for the Top Floor Boss’ latest piece, it looks like it was decked out in sterling silver and black diamonds. This was another killer piece by Alex Moss and his recent fit pics suggest he may have become an honorary member of Opium because of it.
Jeweler: Eliantte & Co
Kendrick Lamar's look for the 2023 Met Gala was certainly memorable. Mr. Morale arrived at the Karl Lagerfeld-themed event in a look outfitted by the French luxury house Chanel. The outfit was subtle, a leather black blazer paired with slacks, a simple white T-shirt, a red Chanel bandana, and a fitted hat with an embroidered double C logo. One of the finer details of his look was unveiled on Chanel's Instagram page, where Kendrick is captured flashing a grin with a diamond-encrusted tooth cap. K-Dot's tooth cap was crafted by Eliantte & Co and was certainly one of the most unique pieces of jewelry sighted at this year's Met Gala.
Jeweler: Icebox
Anderson .Paak played off his stage name by hitting up Icebox to make a special piece inspired by the classic arcade game Pac-Man. According to Icebox, the chain features rubies, sapphires, and diamonds. Pac-Man ghosts Blinky, Pinky, Inky, and Clyde are all featured on the chain. Each ghost on the chain is also able to be flipped over and turn blue to mimic the ghosts’ transformations when Pac-Man eats a big pellet. What's most impressive about Icebox's latest piece is that its Pac-Man pendant glides freely along the chain so that it looks like Pac-Man's eating iced-out ghosts, pellets, and fruit.
Jeweler: Avi & Co.Yo Gotti turned 42 last month and the iconic Memphis rapper celebrated by spending a cool $5 million on what he dubbed his "biggest jewelry purchase" yet. Gotti hit up Avi & Co. to craft a new chain that boasted 122 carats of diamonds across 61 stones. He even posted pictures that showed each stone was officially certified by the Gemological Institute of America. "Every year I spend at least a million on my birthday," Yo Gotti shared in a caption on Instagram. "Last year I think it was around $2 million. As I get older I wanna spend more." We’ll be keeping an eye out for next year's purchase to see if he can top his high new grand total.
